Born in France, David Danzon emigrated to Canada in 1985. He graduated from the York University Acting program in 1992 and has been acting professionally in TV, Film, Theatre and Dance ever since. After writing and starring in several children TV series for Tfo and for Treehouse TV, and performing in numerous stage productions, David Danzon co-founded CORPUS Dance Projects in 1997 and has dedicated his creative energy to the company for the past 28 years. He has co-created and performed in all of CORPUS’ repertoire (18 productions to date), which has been presented in 150 festivals across Canada and around the world, to public and critical acclaim. He also co-wrote, with filmmaker Robert Deleskie, the half hour film A Day at The Office and short film Peep Show (winner of the Audience Award at Cinedans, Netherlands and programmed in over 100 festivals world-wide).
David Danzon directed and starred in Jeux d’amour et de folie, presented by Théâtre Francais de Toronto, which was voted one of 2005’s best artistic achievements by Eye Weekly. He won a Gold medal for Canada in 2001 at the IV Games of la Francophonie in the street theatre competition. He was also a finalist for the Prix d’excellence artistique de Théâtre Action. David co-directed the Dusk Dances festival from 1996 to 2008 and was its regular host.

Takako Segawa is an award-winning contemporary dancer who choreographs and performs worldwide. Born in Japan, Takako trained at London Contemporary Dance School, England, and toured Europe for several years before immigrating to Canada in 2011. Her recent pieces and collaborations fuse her Japanese heritage with western dance to create such works as Ky-ho buki, Yume-Iro, Rokuro (The Wheel), Life is a Paradox, and the films Echoes and Sho ga nai. She had performed and directed a 60-min multi-media production called Echoes: Vibrations from Japan to Canada premiering at Ottawa’s Arts Court, 21-23 November 2024. Takako also performs with Corpus theatre company in Europe, Africa, Asia, and North America since 2011.

Daibei Wang (王岱贝) is a Chinese-Canadian, queer performance artist weaving through worlds of dance and theatre; along with any projects admist or beyond. They are currently based in Tkaronto, having just completed her third year in Toronto Metropolitan University’s Acting program, where they were honoured with the George Luscombe: Toronto Workshop Productions Award. Their recent credits include 2021: Mechanisms to Hold (Tarragon Theatre’s Greenhouse Festival), performances with Corpus Dance Projects (Transhumance & Les Moutons), WARP (Erin Howley, in partnership with Charles Street Video), Marriage (TMU), and Clown X (TMU).

Diego Guerrero (He/Him) is a Venezuelan actor, filmmaker, and multidisciplinary artist with over 20 years of experience in theatre, film, and media. Trained at Estudio Corazza in Madrid and holding a degree in Mass Media and Communications from UCAB, he has worked in Venezuela, Peru, Spain, and Mexico as an actor, Assistant Director, and producer. Now based in Halifax, he continues to explore acting and multimedia storytelling, recently performing in Symphony of Nests (Nocturne’s Noisemakers) and Kevin Hartford’s latest short film. He is also actively workshopping three new theatre plays with local artists Jay Whitehead and Garry Williams, Isaac Mule, and Santiago Guzmán. His work blends performance, video art, and documentary storytelling, reflecting themes of migration, identity, and resilience.

Jessie Walker (they/she) is a queer, multi-disciplinary artist, theatre-menace, and veritable jack-of-all-trades, originally from unceded Wabanaki land (colonially known as Maine, USA.) She is now so honored to call Kjipuktuk their artistic home and feels incredibly thankful for the work she has had the opportunity to create in Halifax! They are the co-founder and artistic manager of Around + Out Theatre Co., an indie company focusing on playful theatre creations. In their work as a multi-hyphenate performer, producer, playwright, and arts administrator, they have been fortunate to collaborate with many arts organizations across Canada and the US including Shakespeare by the Sea, Prismatic Arts Festival, Arrivals Legacy Project, Ghost Tower Theatre Co., The Unnatural Disaster Theatre Co., The Villain’s Theatre, Eastern Front Theatre, Threadbare Theatre Workshop, programsound.fm, Opera House Arts, Queen Doris Productions, and the Fountain School of Performing Arts.

Sydney Hallett (She/Her) is an actor/dancer/choreographer based in Fredericton, New Brunswick. She has a BA in Fine Arts and English (Drama) from St. Thomas University and has been training in physical theatre with Solo Chicken Productions since 2017. She works with various local companies as a dance/theatre-maker and educator and creates and produces her own dance works. She believes in the power of accessibility in arts as a tool to create more dynamic, thoughtful, interesting artistic spaces, processes, and performances. As an actor, she has performed with Solo Chicken Productions, Bard in the Barracks, NotaBle Acts, Hyperloop Theatre, and Theatre St. Thomas. She has choreographed for St. Thomas University’s Musical Theatre Program, Theatre New Brunswick’s Theatre School, and had work featured in Connection Dance’s Perspective, Kinetic Studio’s Open Studio Series, and Carte Blanche Acadie. As a human, she enjoys spending time with friends on a sunny patio, going on adventures, and making delicious coffee.
