FRUIT MACHINE
Solo Chicken Productions
Fruit Machine is a haunting look at the harm paranoia-driven policy can do to vulnerable communities, and a memorial to the brave and powerful queer individuals who resisted an insidious, dehumanizing security campaign.
Weaving projection design by Kay and Matt Downey, original composition by Jackson Fairfax-Perry, and movement by I'thandi Munro, UNICORN navigates the winding, complex roads of life for two Queer African Nova Scotians in a poetic and empowering love story, featuring intimate and charming performances by Kiana Josette and Trina James.

BUS STOP THEATRE WRITERS CIRCLE
Nova Scotia / Mi'kma'ki
The Bus Stop Theatre Writers’ Circle has a mandate to foster and produce new work by underrepresented and emerging writers, with a focus on live performance arts. We host regular skill-building workshops and feedback sessions that provide support and feedback for emerging writers of all disciplines, building a community of artists at many levels of experience and across various creative practices. This program creates an affirming and nurturing space for the vulnerable practice of sharing new writing. Esteemed author Andre Fenton leads our monthly feedback sessions and teaches multiple writing workshops through the Bus Stop for both professional, emerging, and youth participants. Producer Meg Hubley offers grant writing services and facilitates professional development and creative workshop periods for emerging artists. They also provide production support for public premieres of scripts developed through the Writers Circle community.
