BOTTOM DWELLERS: A DEEP SEA MUSICAL

THE UNNATURAL DISASTER THEATRE CO.

Bottom Dwellers: A Deep Sea Musical is an oceanic odyssey for all ages about a 400 year old Greenland Shark, ocean history, and how climate change is affecting the Atlantic from the top to the very bottom.

As best friends Hagfish, Urchin, and Crab celebrate a feast around a fresh whale fall, they encounter an ancient shark with a dire warning about the ways in which the ocean has been changing. With colourful projections, original music, and an infusion of ocean facts Bottom Dwellers takes audiences on an unforgettable adventure where the deep sea is brought to the surface -- live on stage!

Nova Scotia / Mi'kma'ki

The Unnatural Disaster Theatre Co. is an eclectic collective of artists with a passion for music, puppetry, and telling stories about the natural world through their environmentally sustainable practice.

The collective was forged in the Spring of 2019 by Artistic Director Logan Robins, as a way to begin work on their first production - “The Encounters of an Adventurous Snail”.

As of June 2024, UDTCo. has brought 16 productions to life including original pieces, world premieres of existing plays, immersive and site specific experiences, and more!

Most recently they produced "Deeper" by Robyn Vivian at OutFest 2024, "Hippoposthumous" by Logan Robins at Calgary's High Performance Rodeo, and "Primal" as a part of the 2024 Theatre NS Drama Fest.

Coming up next UDTCo. will be premiering "Something Missing", a new play by J Hannaford at the 2024 Halifax Fringe Festival alongside "Autobiographical Fiction"- an experimental improvised solo show featuring Olivier Blais.
