THE FIELD TRIP

Let us do the driving in a comfortable passenger bus with wifi, air conditioning and a bathroom! We’ll stop at the Blomidon Lookoff where you can stretch your legs and enjoy the view, or maybe even an ice cream! Next we’ll arrive at Ross Creek Centre for the Arts where you can stroll the grounds, enjoy the gallery, and enjoy one of their famous Picnic Lunches (or eat your own!) before taking in the matinee performance of The Mountain and the Valley. After the show we'll have an exclusive post-show chat with some of the artists involved before we make one last stop at Hennigar's Farm Market to peruse their local produce and grounds.

It is the Annapolis Valley between the Great Wars and David Canaan, beloved grandson, son, brother, and twin to Anna is on the cusp of manhood. Brilliant, sensitive, observant and the pride of his community his future shines with promise.  And yet at 33 he stands alone at the top of the South Mountain looking back at the miscommunications and the misunderstandings that have derailed his dreams. Adapted from the beloved novel by Ernest Buckler, this long-awaited outdoor production asks: how is it that such promise has not come to pass, and can we ever begin again?
