STAGES aims to present accessible, innovative and entertaining shows at different stages of development, by artists at different stages of their careers. Due to changing COVID-19 restrictions, we are focusing on smaller productions from within the Atlantic Provinces. We are looking for productions aimed at both adult and youth audiences, with a maximum running time of 75 minutes and short turnaround times. We will consider traditional theatre productions and site-specific pieces, but are particularly interested in installation pieces, digital work, and non-traditional theatrical experiences that allow for social distancing.
Preference will be given to shows that are created by Atlantic Canadian artists or tell Atlantic Canadian stories. We are especially keen to support artists and stories from communities that are currently underrepresented in Canadian theatre (including but not limited to IBPOC and Deaf and disabled artists). If you are a member of an underrepresented community, we invite you to self-identify in your application.
Proposals will be accepted electronically until Monday, February 8th 2021.
Applicants are asked to complete the following Google Form and then send any applicable support materials to Info@EasternFrontTheatre.com.
