This new program will run from Oct 29, 2019 to June 15, 2020.

Program details:
  • Each playwright will choose one piece to work on throughout the program with specific writing/rewriting goals determined by the playwright, mentors, dramaturge and the Artistic Producer of EFT
  • The group will meet every month, led by dramaturge from PARC, to update progress, discuss challenges, and receive feedback.
  • Each playwright will also have a regularly scheduled one-on-one with their mentor (who will be an established playwright)
  • When progress on the play merits, playwrights will receive workshop time with a director, dramaturge and actors (cast and assigned through Eastern Front Theatre)
  • Each playwright will have their work read (excerpt or full - depending on progress) at EFT’s annual STAGES Theatre Festival in May 2020 at Neptune’s Scotiabank Stage
  • Program members will receive a season pass to attend all shows and readings presented by Eastern Front

Please note:
  • All Playwrights must be members of PARC and Theatre NS, or can join at the time of receiving their offer to join the program
  • Playwrights must commit to attend all meetings throughout the year (can be done remotely)
  • Out-of-town playwrights are responsible for their own transportation and accommodation when attending meetings and events
Submissions are now closed.
Thank you to everyone you took the time to send in a submission.
