A workshop on techniques to get performers out of their heads, into their bodies, and to adapt text into movement as dictated by their own guts.

Participants will sweat their way through a series of movement activities that will lead to a collectively created scene based on some existing text. This workshop combines theatre and dance. Facilitator Luciana Silvestre Fernandes borrows from Grotowski, contemporary dance, and devised theatre techniques. Focusing on externalizing each performer's visceral responses through their own physical vocabulary in the pursuit of authenticity, all theatre/dance/movement backgrounds (or none at all!) are welcome.
