HOW QUICKLY THINGS CHANGE
XOST (SECRET THEATRE)
PRESENTATION
45 minutes, all ages

A story told through a constant costume quick change. Part cinematic, part performance, it offers a deliberately multifaceted encounter intended to make us reflect on time and the shared experience.

Our hero embarks on the heroic task of performing multiple moments over a life's story between 17 and 40. With a support team of people and you, characters and situations get brought to life within a brief amount of time without ever exiting. This is hyper-biography narrated through a mega-backstage theatre trick. Unlike most theatre, this performance uses a camera to capture the live-action and later play it back on a big screen, more like a live movie than a play. This tactic is intended to exploit the tension between cinema that captures time and theatre, which is ephemeral and fleeting like life. Think instant nostalgia. One other thing that's different about HOW QUICKLY THINGS CHANGE: nothing is hidden. You see the quick change crew, the lighting fixtures, the snow machine used to create the illusion. It is meant to give you the feeling you are stepping onto a film set. As soon as you are through the door, you are immersed in the experience.
