Volunteer Opportunities

Become an ambassador for Eastern Front Theatre.
Eastern Front Theatre needs you! Become part of our energetic volunteer team and connect with other like-minded theatre lovers from across the HRM. If you value Eastern Front’s commitment to the cultural fabric of our city, province and region, join our volunteer team. Volunteers are needed in the following areas:

Front of House

Do you love live theatre and want to see more of it?  Eastern Front Theatre is looking for outgoing individuals who will make a commitment to volunteer twice during each of the productions.

Ushers
Ushers stuff inserts into programs, greet patrons, take tickets, hand out programs, and answer questions for audience members.

Ushers get to see the show for free as they are required to sit in the theatre during the performance, and to stand at entrance door to the theatre prior to the show, during intermission and at end of show.

Bartender
Set up, run and take down the bar during the Extinction Song opening night. Individuals working the bar must be able to handle money and serve drinks during intermission and after the show.

Box Office
Our newest position, the box office volunteers distribute pre-purchased tickets and sell tickets to walk-ups at the door.  This position requires organization, a smile and comfort handling money and credit card payments.

Administration

Box Office
Respond to e-mail and phone ticket requests, update the ticket database and print tickets.  Ideally, this position requires a weekly commitment.

Mail outs
This position helps Eastern Front stuff, stamp, label and seal roughly 3,000 pieces in preparation for a Canada Post mail out.
Publicity Team

Brochure/Poster Distribution
This position includes the distribution of flyers and posters to retail outlets, markets, and tourism centers, etc. in HRM.

Fundraising Team

Special Events Committee Member
This position entails serving on a committee to create and implement fundraising projects during the season.
Silent Auction / Prizes Committee
This position assists with the “ask” for the donation of items for fundraising purposes.
