Charlie Rhindress
Artistic Producer
Charlie is Eastern Front Theatre’s Artistic Producer and SuperNova Theatre Festival Curator. Born in Amherst, Nova Scotia and educated at Mount Allison University, he is a co-founder and former Artistic Director of Live Bait Theatre, based in Sackville, New Brunswick. To date, Charlie has written ten full length plays, including The Maritime Way of Life, which was nominated for a Canadian Comedy award as best new play, and Flying On Her Own, based on the life of Canadian singer/songwriter, Rita MacNeil. The latter was published by Playwrights Canada Press in 2008. He has also written or co-written more than thirty dinner theatre plays and two plays for teens. Charlie has acted in films including Red Rover and Black Eyed Dog, and at theatres across Canada. His directing credits include the premiere of Cathy Jones‘ one woman show, Me, Dad and the Hundred Boyfriends at Theatre Passe Muraille in Toronto and The Compleat Wrks of Wllm Shkspr (abridged) at Neptune Theatre in Halifax, for which he received a Merritt award nomination as Best Director. He is the former Associate Artist at Neptune.
Adam Reid
Administrative Director
Adam Reid is a Newfoundland born, New Brunswick raised arts administrator who has been working in theatre and festival coordination for the past ten years. He is the Administrative Director of Eastern Front Theatre. In Halifax he has been engaged by the Atlantic Film Festival Association, Halifax Film, and the Halifax 2011 Canada Games. Adam is a member of the board of directors of Halifax Pride and the Atlantic Fringe Festival, and the Director of Halifax Pride’s QUEER ACTS Theatre Festival. Currently in its third year, QUEER ACTS presents local and out-of-town theatrical productions of interest to the LGBTQ community during Halifax Pride Week.
