Scott Burke
Artistic Producer
Scott Burke is an award-winning director, playwright and producer. He is the Artistic Producer of Eastern Front Theatre and a founding member of In Good Company. In Good Company’s production of God’s Middle Name (Merritt Awards for Outstanding Production and Outstanding New Play), was a finalist for the Lieutenant Governor’s Masterworks Award. From 2003 to 2005, he served as the Artistic Director of Theatre New Brunswick. From 1998 to 2003, Scott was the Artistic Producer of the Ship’s Company Theatre, where he wrote and directed The Parrsboro Boxing Club (Robert E. Merritt Award for Best New Play) and Chairmaker the Musical (five Merritt Award nominations including Best New Play, Best Director). Other directing credits include Mary’s Wedding (Merritt Awards for Best Production, Best Director, Best Lighting Design); The Last Tasmanian; Miles From Home; Sole Survivors and Apple Tree Road. At Neptune Theatre, Scott directed Kilt. Other directing credits encompass a wide variety of genres from Shakespeare to vaudeville revue, comedy troupes to new play development. Administratively, Scott is responsible for the revitalization of Ship’s Company Theatre and played a leading role in the conception and development of the New Theatre Facility. Scott has a BA from the Dalhousie University Professional Actor Training Program and an MFA in Theatre Direction from Penn State University. He was recently awarded the 2009 College of Arts and Architecture Alumni Award in Theatre from Penn State University.
Nancy Morgan
Administrative Director
Nancy Morgan is an arts administrator and music teacher. She is the Administrative Director of Eastern Front Theatre. Originally with Eastern Front from 1998-2001, she has also worked at Great Canadian Theatre Company in Ottawa. She is a registered music teacher and serves on the provincial council of the NSRMTA. Currently the Treasurer of Theatre Nova Scotia, Nancy has served on the Board of Directors of the Nittany Valley Symphony and is a founding member of the Shearwater Military Family Resource Centre. She is a classical pianist who is some day going to have time to play again. Acting credits include Mrs. Bishop in last season’s Dear Santa, a role which called for no talent (or lines), just wind-blown hair. Nancy has a BAH from Queen’s University School of Music and an MBA from St. Mary’s University. She lives in Cole Harbour with her two amazing teenage sons.
